The Indigenous College of Education and Research (ICER) the longest servicing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Higher Education program in Australia dating back to 1973. ICER is an integral part of the University of South Australia enabling it to facilitate its legislative commitment to Indigenous Education.

The ICER is a component of the Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences and comprises four major areas : the Office of the Dean, The Unaipon School, the Indigenous Support Unit (ISU) and 'Nunga' Research.

The University of South Australia has demonstrated a strong commitment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community through its Act of Establishment, Statement of Strategic Intent and its Statement of Commitment to Australian Reconciliation.
