The ARCME has established a nexus between medical research and engineering, with a unique commercial emphasis that will make Australia a focal point in the region, and one of the leaders of a discipline rare anywhere in the world.

The Centre encourages a professional approach to innovative research, which will initially benefit the local community but will extend to the international community in the long term. The ARCME supports a diverse training and education program. Its graduates will be exposed to and will understand the process of, commercialisation of the research results.

They will be encouraged to take the lead in developing these opportunities as they move from research to industry.
