Gorokan P.S. is situated in the Wyong Shire. The school receives funding from the Priority Schools Funding Program. The school has strong ties with its community. In 1990, the school was awarded the Director General's Award for Community Participation.

A unique feature of the school is its literacy program. Its success can be attributed to the strategic support offered to students by teachers, support teachers and dozens of parent tutors.

The school has 24 classes and a staff of 40 including a Principal, one Deputy Principal and four Assistant Principals.
