Cairns School of Distance Education is a Queensland State School offering co-educational services to home based learners from Prep to Year 12.

The school's culture is characterised by the provision of individualised curriculum and high levels of educational support, achieved through the establishing of close professional working relationships with students and home tutors.

Each child and home tutor has the support of teachers, the School Nurse, the Guidance Officer, the Parent Liaison Officer, their Contact Teacher, the senior staff of the school and a range of other learning support staff.
