Kempsey High School is situated in spacious, leafy grounds with diverse sporting facilities. Kempsey High School has a proud tradition of excellence in education. Kempsey High Schol is a rural school on the Mid North Coast of NSW with approximately 20% of students being Aboriginal. A broad curriculum caters for the diverse needs of students with Visual Arts, Drama, Software Design and Development and Information Processes and Technology are all offered as Higher School Certificate subjects.

Academic rigour is a high priority, as is the extension of all students to achieve personal excellence. Student success is celebrated in a positive climate designed to raise self-esteem and support the aspirations of the school community. A vital and publicly acknowledged Sports Program is offered at Kempsey High School.

The school is committed to a planned and integrated Student Welfare Program focusing on the individual needs of each child in a nurturing and supportive small school context. A democratically elected Student Council provides a forum for student concerns and ideas to be integrated into whole school planning.
