Narangba Valley State High School is a Coeducational State School, catering for students from years 8 to 12. Current enrolment as per August 2006 is 1564 students.
The school’s curriculum is organised around the development of generic skills with thinking and learning embedded into a transdisciplinary approach inclusive of the designated Key Learning Area outcomes. Information, Communication Technologies are integrated throughout the school with a student/computer ratio meeting Education Queensland targets. Drug education is delivered to students through Health and Physical Education as well as our student welfare programs. Sport is compulsory for all students in Years 8-10 and voluntary in Years 11 and 12. Indigenous students receive additional support when needed through our indigenous Teacher Aide.
Narangba Valley State High School offers Academy Programs, in the following areas: AFL, Dance, Drama and Music. As well as accelerated and or excellence programs in, English, Mathematics and Science.
Students enjoy a variety of specialist facilities including Dance and Music facilities, various computer laboratories, Arts and Manual Arts workshops, Home economics, Specialist Science and Maths areas, and a Library and Resource Centre. Sporting facilities include access to rugby league, soccer, softball and baseball fields. Squash and netball courts, extensive ovals and specialist basketball facilities.
