Newman College is a Roman Catholic co-educational residential college, conducted by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits).
Most Colleges provide spiritual, academic and pastoral support for resident students, as well as rich opportunities for extra-curricular activities and for developing friendships with students from all Faculties. Educational programmes of small-group tutorials are supported by facilities such as libraries, computer rooms and music practice rooms.
There are twelve Colleges affiliated with the University of Melbourne.
All the Colleges are co-educational. They admit both undergraduate and post graduate students.
Newman College, located at the northern end of Swanston Street, is also able to cater for groups, conference, workshops, retreats and other special events in its over 200 single, centrally heated and serviced rooms.
